Regular Season Round 14: Botas - Galatasaray 54-77

TKBL top team - Galatasaray (13-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Botas (6-8) in Adana 77-54. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. Botas managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Botas outrebounded Galatasaray 33-0 including a 11- advantage in offensive rebounds. Vincentian-Spanish center Sancho Lyttle (192-83, college: Houston) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Isil Alben (170-86, agency: 1x1 Sports) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Spanish point guard Sandra Ygueravide (172-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Michelle Snow (196-80, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Galatasaray maintains first position with 13-1 record. Botas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Besiktas and Ceyhan Bld. Galatasaray are looking forward to face Konak (#11) in Izmir in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Botas' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Adana to the arena Ceyhan Bld.
