Regular Season Round 15: I.T.U. - Maliye Milli 68-64

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked ITU Istanbul (9-5) defeated at home 15th ranked Maliye Milli (4-11) 68-64 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. ITU Istanbul made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Maliye Milli turnovers. Strangely Maliye Milli outrebounded ITU Istanbul 47-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for point guard Rahim Rizvanoglu (183-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. American forward Isiah Brown (203-89, college: E.Tenn.St.) helped adding 14 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks. Four ITU Istanbul players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Deniz Cevik (190-94, agency: 1x1 Sports) with 15 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Sean Carter (205-88, college: Massachusetts) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. ITU Istanbul have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Maliye Milli keeps the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Pertevniyal. ITU Istanbul will meet Balikesir (#9) on the road in the next round. Maliye Milli will play against Vestel (#8) and hope to secure a win.
