Regular Season Round 15: Fraport SKY - Vechta 70-67

Sixteenth-ranked SC Rasta Vechta (3-12) was very close to win a game against eighth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (9-6) in Frankfurt. Deutsche Bank Skyliners managed to secure only three-point victory 70-67. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 19-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for center Johannes Voigtmann (210-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Jarred Dubois (190-90, college: Utah) helped adding 17 points. Four Deutsche Bank Skyliners players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Canadian forward Jacob Doerksen (199-87) with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Richard Williams (177-87, college: San Diego St.) scored 8 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Deutsche Bank Skyliners. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ratiopharm. SC Rasta Vechta lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Bayreuth and Walter Tigers. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against league's second-placed Brose Bask. in Bamberg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SC Rasta Vechta will play at home against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
