Regular Season Round 16: Ankara DSI Era - Buyukcekmece 87-85

Thirteenth-ranked Buyukcekmece (6-10) was very close to win a game against third ranked Ankara DSI Era (11-5) on Saturday. Ankara DSI Era managed to secure only two-point victory 87-85. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 26-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Ankara DSI Era made 29-of-33 free shots (87.9 percent) during the game, while Buyukcekmece only scored nine points from the stripe. The winners were led by swingman Hakan Erol (200-83) who scored that evening 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Mustafa Gorur (204-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) supported him with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Even 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Erdem Turetken (199-79) did not help to save the game for Buyukcekmece. American power forward Kahiem Seawright (206-86, college: Rhode Island) added 18 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ankara DSI Era moved-up to second place, which they share with Yesilgiresun. Buyukcekmece at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Ankara DSI Era will meet Akhisar Bld (#4) on the road in the next round. Buyukcekmece will play against Maliye Milli (#16) and hope to secure a win.
