Important game to mention about took place in Weissenfels. Fifth ranked Telekom Baskets (11-5) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 11th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (7-9) 69-66 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Mitteldeutscher BC. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-12. But Mitteldeutscher BC won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Telekom Baskets won last quarter 19-18. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Mitteldeutscher BC's players. The winners were led by American forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jared Jordan (188-84, college: Marist, agency: Pro One Sports) supported him with 8 points and 6 rebounds. Even 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (203-89, college: USF) did not help to save the game for Mitteldeutscher BC. American point guard Adonte Parker (183-89, college: Dayton) added 17 points (made all of his seven free throws) for lost side. Telekom Baskets moved-up to fourth place. Mitteldeutscher BC at the other side dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Phoenix Hagen and NY Phantoms. Telekom Baskets will play against Artland Dragons (#7) in Quakenbrueck in the next round. Mitteldeutscher BC will play on the road against Phoenix Hagen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
