The game in Usak was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Karsiyaka (9-5) played at the court of sixth ranked Usak (9-5). Usak managed to secure a 5-point victory 82-77 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-15. But Karsiyaka won second period 28-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton) scored 22 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Slovenian power forward Miha Zupan (205-82) chipped in 14 points during the contest. American guard Jon Diebler (198-88, college: Ohio St.) responded with 21 points and Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. Karsiyaka's coach Ufuk Sarica rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Usak moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Karsiyaka. Usak will meet Trabzonspor (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Karsiyaka will play against TED Kolejliler (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
