Regular Season Round 14: BC Kyiv - Mykolaiv 96-93 2OT

Mykolaiv (#11) forced the game against BC Kyiv (#10) into a double-overtime, but lost by three points 93-96 on Sunday night. The hosts were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win double-overtime period 12-11. BC Kyiv dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Mykolaiv's 46. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Mykolaiv was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Lee Humphrey (189-84, college: Florida) who scored 31 points and 6 assists. The other American import forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. BC Kyiv's coach Vitaliy Cherniy used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Kervin Bristol (206-88, college: Fordham, agency: N.E.T.) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds and Polish point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (179-84) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BC Kyiv (6-7) moved-up to ninth place. Mykolaiv at the other side keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. BC Kyiv will face higher ranked Ferro-ZNTU (#5) in Zaporozhye in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mykolaiv will play on the road against BC Odessa (#3) and hope to win that game.
