Regular Season Round 14: Dnipro - DniproAzot 74-81

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Dnepropetrovsk where 13th ranked Dnipro (2-12) was defeated by fourteenth ranked DniproAzot (2-10) 81-74 on Sunday. Dnipro was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. DniproAzot made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St.) who scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The other American import forward Sam Muldrow (205-88, college: S.Carolina) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. International Olexandr Mishula (192-92) produced 16 points and 9 assists and international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Dnipro players scored in double figures. Dnipro's coach rotated twenty players in this game, but that didn't help. DniproAzot moved-up to thirteenth place. Dnipro lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. DniproAzot will face higher ranked Budivelnyk (#4) in Kyiv in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Dnipro will play at home against the league's leader Khimik (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
