Top ranked Bayern Muenchen (15-2) recorded its second loss in Oldenburg on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked EWE Baskets (12-5) 87-72. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Bayern Muenchen. The game without a history. EWE Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Bayern Muenchen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South, agency: Pro One Sports) who scored 26 points. EWE Baskets' coach Sebastian Machowski used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) produced 22 points and forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. EWE Baskets maintains fourth place with 12-5 record. Bayern Muenchen at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. EWE Baskets are looking forward to face ratiopharm Ulm (#7) at home in the next round. Bayern Muenchen will play against Mitteldeutscher BC (#10) in Weissenfels and is hoping to win this game.
