Regular Season Round 15: P.Zvaigzdes - Nevezis 79-62

An interesting game for P.Zvaigzdes (10-6) which hosted in Pasvalys 4th placed Nevezis (7-7). Second ranked P.Zvaigzdes had an easy win 79-62. The game was mostly controlled by P.Zvaigzdes. Nevezis managed to win second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Nevezis 38-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for center Egidijus Dimsa (205-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. The former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-85) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. P.Zvaigzdes' coach Rimantas Grigas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) answered with 10 points and 7 rebounds and guard Gintaras Leonavicius (194-83, agency: Players Group) added 10 points in the effort for Nevezis. P.Zvaigzdes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-6 record having just two points less than leader Tonybet. Nevezis lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with seven games lost. P.Zvaigzdes are looking forward to face LSU-Atletas (#10) in Kaunas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nevezis will play on the road against Juventus (#9) in Utena and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
