Regular Season Round 15: Juventus - Siauliai 64-91

The game between 9th ranked Juventus (5-10) and eighth ranked Siauliai (6-8) in Utena on Tuesday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Siauliai outscored Juventus 91-64. The game was mostly controlled by Siauliai. Juventus managed to win second period 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Siauliai forced 24 Juventus turnovers. It was a quality performance for American point guard Derek Needham (180-90, college: Fairfield) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Darius Pakamanis (192-81) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Four Siauliai players scored in double figures. Guard Edgaras Stanionis (194-88) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Russian forward Nikita Barinov (203-91) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Juventus in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Siauliai moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Dzukija. Juventus at the other side keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Siauliai will meet at home bottom-ranked Lietkabelis (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Juventus will play against Nevezis and hope to secure a win.
