Regular Season Round 20: Naestved - Horsholm 77-73

An interesting game took place in Naestved where higher ranked Horsholm (7-7) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Naestved (5-10) 77-73 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-17. But Horsholm won second period 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Horsholm 41-25 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naestved looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish point guard Sergio Guardia (188-88) who scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Morgan Sabia (203-89, college: Hartford, agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Naestved's coach Bogdan Karaicic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Brenton Butler (188-87, college: Fordham) produced 27 points and Hungarian forward Attila Kovacs (202-85) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Naestved and four Horsholm players scored in double figures. Naestved moved-up to eighth place. Loser Horsholm keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Horsens IC. Naestved will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Horsholm will play against Vaerlose (#10) and hope to secure a win.
