Regular Season Round 20: Horsens IC - Svendborg 89-77

There was a change at the Ligaen leadership position after last games. Round 20 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Svendborg (11-3). They were defeated by fifth ranked Horsens IC (7-7) 89-77 on Thursday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Svendborg. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 55-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Horsens IC made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian swingman Vedran Borovcanin (199-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Skyler Bowlin (190-89, college: Missouri So.) who added 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) during the contest. Four Horsens IC players scored in double figures. American point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) responded with 23 points and his fellow American import center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) scored 20 points. Svendborg's coach Craig Pedersen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Horsens IC have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Horsholm. Svendborg at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Randers. Svendborg will play next round against Falcon trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Horsens IC will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Aalborg on the road.
