Very predictable result in Kaunas where fourth ranked TiuMenas-Ezer. (13-5) defeated 10th ranked Zalgiris II (7-12) 78-72 on Friday. Zalgiris II trailed by 16 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 26-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 72-78 at the end of the game. TiuMenas-Ezer. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Nerijus Varnelis (201-78) who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international power forward Saulius Kuzminskas (210-82, college: California) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Donatas Tarolis (202-94) who recorded 25 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and point guard Lukas Lekavicius (176-94) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively.
