Regular Season Round 16: Aistes-LSU - Ruta-Univ. 98-52

Bottom-ranked Ruta-Univ. is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 16th consecutive match to fifth ranked Aistes-LSU (8-8) 98-52 on Friday evening. The game without a history. Aistes-LSU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ruta-Univ. to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Aistes-LSU dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ruta-Univ.'s 20. Aistes-LSU forced 26 Ruta-Univ. turnovers and outrebounded them 43-27 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Ruta-Univ.'s players. The winners were led by international power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Neringa Skadaite (179-92) supported her with 21 points and 4 assists. Four Aistes-LSU players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Indre Mikelenaite (175, college: Florida Southern) did not help to save the game for Ruta-Univ.. point guard Viktorija Juodeikyte (163-93) added 9 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Aistes-LSU have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 8-8 record. Loser Ruta-Univ. still closes the standings. Aistes-LSU will meet Utena (#6) on the road in the next round. Ruta-Univ. will play against Suduva and hopes to get finally their first victory.
