Regular Season Round 17: Istanbul B.B. - I.T.U. 87-73

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Istanbul: Istanbul B.B. (#7) and ITU Istanbul (#8). Istanbul B.B. (11-6) won against visiting ITU Istanbul (9-7) 87-73. The game was mostly controlled by Istanbul B.B.. ITU Istanbul was better in fourth quarter 21-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Istanbul B.B. shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. American point guard Marque Perry (185-81, college: St.Louis, agency: N.E.T.) nailed 25 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side and swingman Burak Erol (197-88) accounted for 11 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Isiah Brown (203-89, college: E.Tenn.St.) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Murat Erensoy (202-91) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for ITU Istanbul in the defeat. Four ITU Istanbul players scored in double figures. ITU Istanbul's coach tested twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Istanbul B.B. moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted ITU Istanbul dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Istanbul B.B. will play against Final Genclik (#12) in Bursa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ITU Istanbul will play on the road against Vestel in Manisa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
