Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Mitteldeutscher BC and 12th ranked Phoenix Hagen had identical 7-9 record. But Phoenix Hagen was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Weissenfels 80-73. The guests were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-17 Phoenix Hagen's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 80-73 at the end of the game. Phoenix Hagen lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Mitteldeutscher BC's next round opponent will be league's leader Bayern Muenchen at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Phoenix Hagen will play against New Yorker Phantoms (#11) in Braunschweig and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
