Regular Season Round 16: Tonybet - Dzukija 92-62

LKL top team - Tonybet (15-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Dzukija (6-9) in Prienai 92-62. The game was mostly controlled by Tonybet. Dzukija was better in third quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tonybet players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) who scored that evening 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Mindaugas Lukauskis (198-79, agency: XL Basketball Agency) supported him with 17 points and 4 assists. Five Tonybet players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91) did not help to save the game for Dzukija. Center Tautvydas Slezas (207-90, agency: Interperformances) added 10 points and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tonybet have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-2 record. Newly promoted Dzukija dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Tonybet will play against Zalgiris (#6) in Kaunas in the next round where they are favorite. Dzukija will play on the road against the league's second-placed P.Zvaigzdes in Pasvalys and hopes to get back on the winning track.
