Regular Season Round 15: Budivelnyk - DniproAzot 92-82

Very expected game when 13th ranked DniproAzot (2-11) lost to fourth ranked Budivelnyk (10-5) in Kyiv 82-92 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 48-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward DaJuan Summers (203-88, college: Georgetown, agency: Priority Sports) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Latvian point guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89) accounted for 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. American point guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St.) came up with 21 points and 8 assists and the other American import forward Sam Muldrow (205-88, college: S.Carolina) added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for DniproAzot in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Budivelnyk have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with BC Odessa. Loser DniproAzot keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Budivelnyk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. DniproAzot will play against Cherkasy (#10) and hope to secure a win.
