Gaz Metan (6-7) outlasted Craiova (8-6) in overtime by nine points 97-88. Craiova was tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they could not keep up in overtime eventually losing that period 4-13. Gaz Metan made 26-of-32 charity shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Craiova was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Greek power forward Giorgos Tsiaras (207-82) notched 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American point guard Willie Kemp (188-87, college: Memphis, agency: KMG Sports Management) supported him with 21 points. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by American guard LeVar Seals (195-82, college: De Paul) did not help to save the game for Craiova. The former international forward Bogdan Popescu (200-78, college: Alaska-Fairb.) added 18 points for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Gaz Metan maintains eleventh position with 6-7 record. Craiova at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Gaz Metan will play against higher ranked Targu Mures (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Craiova will play against Steaua CSM in Bucuresti and hopes to get back on the winning track.
