Regular Season Round 13: Spartak Pleven - Chernomorets 88-72

Bottom-ranked Chernomorets (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 88-72 loss to seventh ranked Spartak Pleven (3-8) in Pleven. Chernomorets was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 49-30 second half run of Spartak Pleven. They outrebounded Chernomorets 32-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Tsvetoslav Ostrev (175-86) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward James Anacreon (201-90, college: Valdosta St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Spartak Pleven players scored in double figures. Guard Todor Zahariev (190-92) answered with 13 points and guard Kalin Hristov (189-90) added 12 points in the effort for Chernomorets. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spartak Pleven maintains seventh place with 3-8 record. Chernomorets at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Spartak Pleven will play against Beroe (#8) in Stara Zagora in the next round. Chernomorets will play at home against the league's leader Lukoil Acad. having rather not much hope for a victory.
