Everything went according to plan when third ranked BasCats Heidelberg (8-4) outleveled at home 7th ranked TSV Amicitia (5-7) 67-41. The game was mostly controlled by BasCats Heidelberg. TSV Amicitia was better in second period 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding TSV Amicitia to just 3 points in fourth quarter and to 10 points in second half. BasCats Heidelberg dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to TSV Amicitia's 16. They outrebounded TSV Amicitia 43-18 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. BasCats Heidelberg brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The winners were led by American point guard Serena Benavente (167-85, college: St.Mary's, CA) who scored that evening 20 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import center Erica Carlson (193-88, college: Dixie St.) supported her with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. Even 17 points by American forward Alysa Horn (182-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) did not help to save the game for TSV Amicitia. Guard Sidney Parsons (168-87, college: Bridgeport) added 9 points. BasCats Heidelberg have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position in South with 8-4 record having just two points less than leader BG 89 Avides. TSV Amicitia at the other side keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. BasCats Heidelberg's next round opponent will be Rhein MB II (#11) in Langen and are hoping to win another game. TSV Amicitia will play at home against Take-Off Wuerzburg (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
