Regular Season Round 15: BK Kyiv-Vovcha - SoyuzBasket 53-85

Higher League top team - SoyuzBasket (12-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixteenth ranked Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya (0-12) 85-53. SoyuzBasket dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya's 22. SoyuzBasket forced 19 Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a quality performance for guard Alexander Shostukha (193-84) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Russian center Ilya Marchenko (210-92) accounted for 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. SoyuzBasket's coach Vladimir Bryaukhavetshy felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Anatoliy Tikhovskiy (198-94) came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds and Volodymyr Pishchikov (187-94) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya in the defeat. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for SoyuzBasket. Newly promoted SoyuzBasket maintains first place with 12-0 record. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya lost their twelfth game in a row. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 12 games lost. SoyuzBasket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya will play against the league's second-placed Kirovograd (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
