Regular Season Round 17: Bremerhaven - TBB Trier 85-80

There was a minor upset when 13th ranked TBB Trier (7-11) was defeated on the road by fifteenth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (5-12) 85-80. It looked good early as TBB Trier took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Eisbaeren Bremerhaven had a 31-17 second period charge getting the lead and TBB Trier was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-85. They outrebounded TBB Trier 41-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. American power forward Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton, agency: IBS) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Darius Adams (182-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Three Eye Sports) accounted for 19 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's coach Calvin Oldham allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Canadian-Jamaican guard Jermaine Anderson (188-83, college: Fordham) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (184-87, college: Wisconsin) added 21 points respectively for TBB Trier in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Vechta. TBB Trier at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's next round opponent will be again higher ranked TBB Trier (#13) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
