No shocking result in a game when third ranked SC Rist Wedel (11-3) defeated on the road 11th ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (2-12) 83-79 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Herzoege Wolfenbuettel won third quarter 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was center Christoph Roquette (203-82) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. British-Australian guard Lee Jeka (193-83) chipped in 21 points. Forward Stephen Schubert (205-92) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and guard Arber Tolaj (191-93) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SC Rist Wedel have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group North leader, which they share with Stahnsdorf. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 12 games lost. SC Rist Wedel will face Oldenburg (#5) at home in the next round. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will play against SG Schwelmer Baskets (#4) and hope to win that game.
