Date: January 12, 2014
Dameligaen top team - SISU (13-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Vaerlose (2-12) in Copenhagen 84-46. The game was mostly controlled by SISU. Vaerlose was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vaerlose to just 6 points in third quarter. SISU held Vaerlose to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.7 percent accuracy of the winners. SISU forced 30 Vaerlose turnovers and had a 31-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Vaerlose's players. Kiki Lund (177-83, college: Dayton) nailed 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and forward Tea Jorgensen (177-87) accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Safia Sheikh (177-94) came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Devon Quattrochi (168-91, college: Smith) added 4 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Vaerlose in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SISU have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-1 record. Vaerlose lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Virum. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
