Regular Season Round 16: LSU-Atletas - Tonybet 67-89

LKL top team - Tonybet (15-2) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed tenth ranked LSU-Atletas (3-13) in Kaunas 89-67. The game was mostly controlled by Tonybet. LSU-Atletas managed to win third quarter 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely LSU-Atletas outrebounded Tonybet 40-0 including a 19- advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of guard Zygimantas Janavicius (188-89, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Arturas Valeika (207-85, college: Midland CC) who added 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Tonybet players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Tomas Urbonas (215-92) responded with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks and Zygimantas Skucas (200-92) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Tonybet have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-2 record. LSU-Atletas lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 13 games lost. Tonybet are looking forward to face Zalgiris (#6) in Kaunas in the next round where they are favorite. LSU-Atletas will play at home against Neptunas (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
