Regular Season Round 23: Palanga - Silute 99-75

Bottom-ranked Palanga managed to get a sixth victory. This time they outleveled seventh-ranked Silute 99-75. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 24-point difference suggests that Palanga is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Silute was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 35-9 charge of Palanga, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Silute's 40. It was a great evening for forward Rytis Biliartas (200-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). American guard Jermaine Love-Roberts (188, college: Ill.-Springfield) helped adding 23 points and 9 rebounds. Five Palanga players scored in double figures. Power forward Arnas Kazlauskas (205-76, agency: Court Side) responded with 30 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and guard Evaldas Saulys (196-93) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Silute's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Palanga (6-15) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Radviliskis. Silute at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Palanga will play against higher ranked TiuMenas-Ezer. (#5) in Moletai in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Silute will play at home against Zalgiris II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
