The game in Kirchheim supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Crailsheim Merlins (13-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Kirchheim Knights (10-8). Crailsheim Merlins smashed Kirchheim Knights 86-57 on Friday. The game without a history. Crailsheim Merlins led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Kirchheim Knights' 26. They outrebounded Kirchheim Knights 50-25 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Andreas Kronhardt (205-89) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized American forward Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 5 assists by American point guard Bryan Smithson (183-85, college: NC-Asheville, agency: The House of Baller!Stars) did not help to save the game for Kirchheim Knights. Forward Max Rockmann (198-88, college: UMKC) added 14 points. Kirchheim Knights' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Crailsheim Merlins have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Jena. Loser Kirchheim Knights keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Heidelberg and Ehingen. Crailsheim Merlins will meet at home Magdeburg (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Kirchheim Knights will play against Cuxhaven BasCats (#15) and hope to secure a win.
