Regular Season Round 13: Herner - Wasserburg 70-83

DBBL top team - TSV 1880 Wasserburg (12-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Herner TC (6-7) 83-70. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-70. TSV 1880 Wasserburg made 31-of-40 free shots (77.5 percent) during the game, while Herner TC only scored fifteen points from the stripe. 26 personal fouls committed by Herner TC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American Emma Cannon (187-89, college: Cent.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!). The former international guard Stina Barnert (173-89) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four TSV 1880 Wasserburg players scored in double figures. American power forward Teya Wright (185-89, college: Providence) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Quenese Davis (177-88, college: San Diego St.) added 15 points in the effort for Herner TC. Herner TC's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. TSV 1880 Wasserburg have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. Herner TC at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. TSV 1880 Wasserburg are looking forward to face ChemCats Chemnitz (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Herner TC will play against SV Halle Lions (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
