Regular Season Round 13: Neuss - Lichterfelde 65-64

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eleventh ranked TG Neuss (4-9) edged at home 10th ranked Lichterfelde (4-9) 65-64 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-64. TG Neuss held Lichterfelde to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 33.8 percent accuracy of the winners. It was a very good performance for American point guard Shacondra James (172, college: Cent.Florida) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) contributed with 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Noemie Rouault (180-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and power forward Satou Sabally (184-98) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Lichterfelde. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TG Neuss moved-up to tenth place in North, which they share with defeated Lichterfelde. TG Neuss will face league's leader Rotenburg/Scheessel on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
