Regular Season Round 11: Elizabeth-Basket - Tim-Scuf 97-55

An exciting game was played in Kirovograd. Second ranked Elizabeth-Basket faced 3rd placed Tim-Scuf. Host Elizabeth-Basket (9-2) smashed guests from Kyiv (5-9) 97-55. The game without a history. Elizabeth-Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Tim-Scuf's 30 and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Tim-Scuf 48-33 including a 41-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Elizabeth-Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Tahnee Robinson (175-88, college: Nevada) chipped in 22 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Five Elizabeth-Basket players scored in double figures. Center Miriam Uro-Nilie (190-94) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Lyudmyla Naumenko (188-93) added 7 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Elizabeth-Basket maintains second place with 9-2 record having seven points less than leader Dynamo. Tim-Scuf at the other side dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Elizabeth-Basket are looking forward to face Interkhim (#3) in Odessa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tim-Scuf will play at home against Interkhim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
