Regular Season Round 14: CSU Sibiu - Farul Const. 104-48

Third ranked CSU Sibiu (10-3) crushed at home 13th ranked Farul Const. (1-13) by 56 points 104-48, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The game without a history. CSU Sibiu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Farul Const.'s 22 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. CSU Sibiu forced 23 Farul Const. turnovers and outrebounded them 46-23 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. CSU Sibiu looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Farul Const.'s players. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Octavian Calota (186-84) who scored 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Bosnian-Croatian guard Matija Ceskovic (192-81) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. Four CSU Sibiu players scored in double figures. CSU Sibiu's coach Miodrag Perisic felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Cezar Stanescu (191-88) produced 21 points and 4 assists and point guard Alexandru Olteanu (185-82) added 8 points respectively for the guests. CSU Sibiu keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Oradea and Ploiesti. Farul Const. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Timba Timis. and Concordia. CSU Sibiu will meet league's leader Oradea on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Farul Const. will play against Timba Timosoara (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
