Not a big story in a game in Timisoara where 12th ranked Timba Timosoara (1-13) was rolled over by tenth ranked Steaua CSM (7-7) 87-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Steaua CSM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American forward Robert Nyakundi (203-89, college: SMU) who scored 30 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Serbian guard Ivan Bosnjak (198-82, agency: BeoExcell) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Florin Popa (194-87) produced 16 points and 5 assists and forward Alin Andries (197-91) added 5 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Timba Timosoara's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Steaua CSM moved-up to eighth place, which they share with BC Timisoara and Pitesti. Timba Timosoara lost twelfth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. They share it with Concordia and Farul Const.. Steaua CSM will meet at home higher ranked Craiova (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Timba Timosoara will play against Farul Const. (#13) in Constanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
