Regular Season Round 16: BK Donetsk-2 - Avantazh-Pol. 86-79

The most important game in the last round took place in Donetsk between third ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik (9-3) and fifth ranked BK Donetsk-2 (9-2) on Sunday night. Avantazh-Politekhnik was defeated by BK Donetsk-2 in a tough game on the road 79-86. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 23-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. BK Donetsk-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Avantazh-Politekhnik's 40. BK Donetsk-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Olexandr Drobiazko (196-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Igor Boyarkin (185-95) who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. BK Donetsk-2's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Anton Mikhaylov (192-91) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Timur Arabadzhi (192-81) scored 23 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BK Donetsk-2 have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Avantazh-Politekhnik at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Avangard. BK Donetsk-2 are looking forward to face Azovmash-2 (#8) in Mariupol in the next round where they are favorite. Avantazh-Politekhnik will have a break next round.
