Regular Season Round 16: Kirovograd - BK Kyiv-Vovcha 100-61

Bottom-ranked Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya (0-13) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 13th consecutive match to second ranked Kirovograd (10-1) 100-61. Kirovograd dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya's 30. Kirovograd forced 25 Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by American forward Quintrell Thomas (203-90, college: UNLV, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who scored that evening 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and swingman Yuriy Lokhmanchuk (197-87) supported him with 20 points and 4 assists. Five Kirovograd players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 21 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists by swingman Pavel Lebedintsev (196-96) did not help to save the game for Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya. Guard Vadim Dovidniy (184-93) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kirovograd have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-1 record having just three points less than leader SoyuzBasket. Newly promoted Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
