Regular Season Round 16: Hoverla - SC Kryvbas 79-63

Date: January 21, 2014
Not a big story in a game in Frankivsk where 12th ranked SC Kryvbas (4-11) were defeated by seventh ranked Hoverla (8-6) 79-63 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Hoverla. SC Kryvbas was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded SC Kryvbas 41-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Hoverla looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Pavel Revzin (194-83) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Hoverla players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Nate Bowie (183-86, college: Cent.Arkansas, agency: Alti Sport) responded with 18 points and 5 assists and his fellow American import point guard Devon Moore (193, college: JMU) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hoverla moved-up to sixth place. SC Kryvbas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Hoverla will face league's second-placed BC Donetsk on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. SC Kryvbas will play against Mykolaiv (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
