Regular Season Round 16: Mykolaiv - Dnipro 70-49

Rather expected game when 14th ranked Dnipro (2-16) was crushed on the road by eleventh ranked Mykolaiv (5-9) 70-49 on Thursday. The game without a history. Mykolaiv led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dnipro to just 4 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Dnipro 43-31 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mykolaiv made 7 blocks. Dnipro was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kervin Bristol (206-88, college: Fordham, agency: N.E.T.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks and Latvian swingman Mareks Jurevicus (197-85) who added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. At the losing side international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Olexandr Misyats (200-92) scored 7 points. Dnipro's coach Valdemaras Chomicius gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Mykolaiv maintains eleventh position with 5-9 record. Dnipro lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Mykolaiv will face SC Kryvbas (#12) in Kryvyi Rih in the next round.
