Very predictable result when eighth ranked Pamukkale (11-7) beat at home 16th ranked Pertevniyal (5-13) 66-60 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Pertevniyal was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 23-12 charge of Pamukkale, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Osiris Eldridge (191-88, college: Illinois St.) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Pamukkale's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 7 blocks and Ogulcan Baykan (195-96) added 18 points respectively. Pamukkale have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Pertevniyal keeps the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. Pamukkale will face Istanbul DSI (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pertevniyal will play against Final Genclik and hope to win that game.
