Regular Season Round 15: Farul Const. - Timba Timis. 52-72

Bottom-ranked Timba Timosoara managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of twelve consecutive loses. This time they outleveled thirteenth-ranked Farul Const. in Constanca 72-52. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference suggests that Timba Timosoara is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by Timba Timosoara. Farul Const. was better in fourth quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by Farul Const. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks. Forward Alin Andries (197-91) accounted for 8 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Cezar Stanescu (191-88) came up with 17 points and Adrian Trandafir added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Farul Const. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Timba Timosoara (2-13) moved-up to twelfth place. Farul Const. lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Timba Timosoara's next round opponent will be higher ranked Oradea (#4) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Farul Const. will play against Craiova (#7) and hope to win that game.
