Regular Season Round 15: Timisoara - ICIM Arad 49-76

Liga Nationala top team - ICIM Arad (15-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Timisoara (5-10) 76-49. The game was mostly controlled by ICIM Arad. Timisoara was better in fourth quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ICIM Arad dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Timisoara's 30. ICIM Arad forced 19 Timisoara turnovers and outrebounded them 39-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Monica Engelman (180, college: Kansas) who scored 16 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Her fellow American import power forward Destiny Williams (185-91, college: Baylor) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four ICIM Arad players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian center Milena Marjanovic (193-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and guard Tunde Kilin (171-91) added 11 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifteenth consecutive win for ICIM Arad. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-0 record. Timisoara at the other side dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. ICIM Arad's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Alba Iulia at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Timisoara will play against Rapid (#11) in Bucuresti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
