We should mention about the upset which took place in Akhisar, where higher ranked Akhisar Bld (11-7) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Maliye Milli (6-12) 72-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Akhisar Bld. Akhisar Bld was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 23-11 third quarter run of Maliye Milli. They outrebounded Akhisar Bld 49-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Akhisar Bld helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American swingman Vincent Grier (195-83, college: Minnesota) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Deniz Cevik (190-94, agency: 1x1 Sports) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Maliye Milli's next round opponent will be higher ranked Gelism (#8) in Izmir and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Akhisar Bld will play on the road against Balikesir and hope to win that game.
