Regular Season Round 15: Targu Mures - Craiova 82-61

Targu Mures' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 14 consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Craiova (1-14) 82-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Targu Mures. Craiova managed to win fourth quarter 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Targu Mures dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Craiova's 30. They outrebounded Craiova 52-28 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Lashantel Wilson (175) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Guard Mihaela Mihai (169-90) accounted for 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Targu Mures players scored in double figures. Swingman Irina Bors (178-88) came up with 19 points and 4 assists and forward Janina Simionca (176-84) added 19 points respectively for Craiova in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Targu Mures left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with defeated Craiova. It was Craiova's thirteenth loss in a row. Targu Mures will meet higher ranked Alexandria (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Craiova will play against CSM Targoviste (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
