Regular Season Round 23: Aalborg - Randers 93-97

Ligaen top team - Randers (14-4) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Aalborg (7-10) 97-93. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aalborg. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 97-93. Randers shot 61.7 percent from the field. It was a quality performance for American forward Bonell Colas (205-82, college: Florida) who led the winners and scored 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. International swingman Chris Nielsen (192-85) accounted for 21 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Randers players scored in double figures. Randers' coach Morten Hansen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Trinidad and Tobago-Canadian point guard Joey Haywood (185-84, college: St.Mary's) added 27 points respectively for Aalborg in the defeat. Randers maintains first place with 14-4 record. Loser Aalborg dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Randers will meet at home league's second-placed Svendborg in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aalborg will play against Vaerlose (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
