Regular Season Round 18: Lietuvos rytas - P.Zvaigzdes 94-73

An interesting game for Lietuvos rytas (9-0) which hosted in Vilnius second-best P.Zvaigzdes (12-8). Top-ranked Lietuvos rytas had an easy win 94-73. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 55-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Lietuvos rytas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Colombian power forward Juan Palacios (203-85) notched 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international Renaldas Seibutis (196-85) supported him with 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Even 20 points by guard Dovydas Redikas (192-92) did not help to save the game for P.Zvaigzdes. Naturalized Swiss guard Rolandas Alijevas (192-85, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 17 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Lietuvos rytas and five P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lietuvos rytas have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Despite that victory Lietuvos rytas went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser P.Zvaigzdes keeps the second place with eight games lost. Lietuvos rytas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. P.Zvaigzdes will play against Siauliai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
