Regular Season Round 17: Ceyhan Bld - Mersin 76-87

Everything went according to plan in Adana where sixth ranked Mersin (8-9) beat 10th ranked Ceyhan Bld (6-11) 87-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mersin. Ceyhan Bld managed to win fourth quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Mersin outrebounded Ceyhan Bld 44-23 including a 20-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Croatian swingman Ana Lelas (183-83) who scored 25 points and 6 assists. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. American D'Andra Moss (178-88, college: VCU, agency: Regeneracom Sports) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and Chilean center Ziomara Morrison (193-89, agency: Regeneracom Sports) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mersin maintains sixth place with 8-9 record. Ceyhan Bld lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Konak and Orduspor. Mersin will meet at home Orduspor (#10) in the next round. Ceyhan Bld will play against Antakya in Hatay and hope to secure a win.
