Regular Season Round 23: Horsens IC - Vaerlose 103-89

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Horsens IC (9-8) beat at home bottom-ranked Vaerlose (4-14) 103-89 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Horsens IC dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vaerlose's 36 and had 24 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Vaerlose only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Vaerlose 42-27 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Horsens IC looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian swingman Vedran Borovcanin (199-85) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Jonas Zohore Bergstedt (210-91) accounted for 19 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Five Horsens IC players scored in double figures. International guard Peter Moller (190-94) came up with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman David Knudsen (193-94) added 23 points respectively for Vaerlose in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Horsens IC maintains fourth place with 9-8 record. Loser Vaerlose stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Horsens IC will meet SISU (#7) in the next round. Vaerlose will play against Aalborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
