Regular Season Round 18: TBB Trier - Bremerhaven 77-89

Date: January 26, 2014
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 13th ranked TBB Trier (7-12) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (6-12) 89-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. TBB Trier was better in second period 27-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. TBB Trier was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American point guard Darius Adams (182-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Philip Zwiener (201-85, agency: LUMANI 10.7) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's coach Calvin Oldham used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (184-87, college: Wisconsin) replied with 20 points and 4 assists and Canadian-Jamaican guard Jermaine Anderson (188-83, college: Fordham) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for TBB Trier. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven maintains fourteenth position with 6-12 record. TBB Trier at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 12 games lost. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will face higher ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (#10) in Weissenfels in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
