A very interesting game took place in Konya. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 15th ranked Selcuk Universitesi (4-12) to tenth ranked Besiktas (7-9) 61-58 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Selcuk Universitesi was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 18-13 charge of Besiktas, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Selcuk Universitesi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a very good performance for guard Chris Lofton (188-86, college: Tennessee, agency: Allegiant Athletic Agency) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Bradley Buckman (203-84, college: Texas) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Besiktas' coach Ahmet Kandemir allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Sean Williams (208-86, college: Boston Coll.) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Selcuk Universitesi. Besiktas moved-up to ninth place. Newly promoted Selcuk Universitesi keeps the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Besiktas' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Galatasaray in Istanbul and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Selcuk Universitesi will play on the road against Aliaga (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
