Sixth-ranked Rilski Sportist (3-11) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Levski (11-3) in Samokov on Sunday. The visitors from Sofia managed to secure only six-point victory 76-70. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 25-15 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 6-point victory in overtime. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Montenegrin center Natasa Popovic (192-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. International center Stefka Miteva (191-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Natalia Topalova-Shopova (186-80) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Rilski Sportist. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Levski have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-3 record. Rilski Sportist lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. Levski will face Montana 2003 (#4) at home in the next round. Rilski Sportist will play against the league's second-placed Dunav 8806 in Ruse and hope to win that game.
